A recent graduate from the University of Arts with a Bachelor of Science in Music-Business, Entrepreneurship & Technology, Kevin Segal joined Cornerstone Discovery in July of 2018. However, this native from New Jersey is not your typical rookie recruit. Kevin comes to Cornerstone with in-court trial support experience already on his resume. During college, Kevin was highly recommended by his college professor to specifically provide trial support in a music copyright case involving the legendary band Led Zeppelin due to his technology acumen and strong ability to analyze music and video.
Thrown into the fire … that’s pretty much how it went for Kevin on day 1 in the office. Within weeks of joining Cornerstone, Kevin was deployed to support a six-week criminal trial in U.S. Eastern District Court of Pennsylvania. Kevin’s confidence and ability to quickly grasp Cornerstone’s technology and solutions made this an easy decision for management. Within a year, Kevin has already supported multiple Civil and Criminal cases of various lengths and sizes ranging from the Southern District of New York to the Districts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. While working with Attorneys, Kevin provides strong project management skills along with flawless execution in and out of the courtroom. If you haven’t already guessed it his favorite rock and roll band is … The Beatles. And when Kevin finally has free time after days on end at trial he turns to his passion — music. Kevin is a singer-songwriter who not only writes and produces his own music but plays over ten different musical instruments. You’ve probably seen him somewhere? At somebody’s wedding? At court? On weekends and holidays, Kevin plays the trumpet for his eleven-person band JEM & The Vibe at gigs through-out the tri-state area. Funk. Soul. Rock-n-roll. Or just a little “more cowbell.” Kevin has you covered.
Having graduated from Fairfield University, John joined the Cornerstone team in 2018. With a background in film & television production, John lends his talents to our Digital Media department, creating demonstrative videos and graphics which attorneys rely on to help present their cases in court. If you need a high-quality video that incorporates video and/or photographic evidence to provide a step-by-step breakdown/narrative of events, who better to put on the case than someone with real-life Hollywood experience?
Aside from taking an active role in the Digital Media department, John has proven himself as an effective multitasker, communicator, and project manager. As such, John was recently promoted to Operations Manager, to assist in facilitating all of Cornerstone’s administrative needs. His colleagues consider him the biological equivalent of the Swiss army knife — a “John of all trades,” if you will.
